CEO / Chairman / Co-Founder
Mike Fong is the CEO and co-founder of Calence, Inc. Since its inception in 1993, Mike has overseen the creation and development of all of the company’s major areas of business, from consulting services to product sales and network outsourcing. He has led the company through many years of growth and expansion while simultaneously driving the company to year over year profitability. Mike speaks at industry conferences, chairs Calence’s Board of Directors and spends significant time with Calence’s customers, making sure that Calence’s offerings continue to be relevant, impactful and valuable in the marketplace.
Prior to founding Calence, Mike provided consulting services to some of the world’s largest organizations, helping them apply information technology to solve their business challenges. He has extensive experience with IT and organizational strategies, network and technical architectures and application development and deployment. Mike also brings international experience to Calence, having lived and worked overseas helping develop the Asia-Pacific network technology practice for an international systems integrator.
A two-time Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, Mike has also been involved in a variety of business organizations including:
- Inc. Eagles CEO program (with CEOs of companies up to ~$1B in annual revenue)
- Arizona Business Leadership
- Governors Council on Innovation and Technology
- Greater Phoenix Leadership
Mike has been responsible for Calence’s creation of charitable events that have raised nearly $50K for the American Lung Association as well as for Calence’s sponsorship and participation in many other charitable endeavors. These efforts have resulted in significant fund raising and the donation of thousands of company man-hours to help the communities in which Calence works.
Mike received his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. |
