Call to Order

Co-Chairmen Bill Hardin and Steve Sanghi called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. and welcomed Council Members and the public in attendance.

 

Roll Call and Introductions

Presentations

 

Dr. Raymond Woosley, V.P. of Health Sciences, University of Arizona gave a presentation on the Institute for Global Pharmaceutical Development and its impact on Tucson.

 

Marcus Dell’Artino, Public Policy Partners, spoke to the Council about Prop 102.

 

Committee Breakout Session

 

Chairmen Bill Hardin and Steve Sanghi reviewed the Council’s committee structure.  The following committees were established for FY 2005: Capital Formation Legislative Committee, Brand/Image Development and Awareness Committee, Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurial Assistance Committee, and Infrastructure Development Strategic Planning Committee.  The Infrastructure Development Strategic Planning Committee consists of three sub-committees – Education and Knowledge Worker Development, Arizona/Mexico Technology Business Development, and Statewide Telecommunications Infrastructure. The committees met to discuss the goals and objectives for their respective committees. 

 

Approval of Minutes

 

Co-Chairman Bill Hardin requested a motion to approve the August 18, 2004 minutes.  Todd Bankofier so moved.  Seconded by Gil Jimenez.  Motion carried.

 

 

Next Council Meeting

 

October 25, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the State Capitol, Executive Tower, 2nd floor conference room.

Chairmen Bill Hardin and Steve Sanghi thanked the Council, with special thanks to Adriane Brown and Honeywell for hosting the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:10m.
