Call to Order

Chairman Ed Zito called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. and welcomed council members and the public in attendance.

 

Roll Call and Introductions

Approval of Minutes

 

The Chairman asked for a motion to approve the May minutes.  Council Member Jimenez:  So moved.  Second.  Motion carried.

 

Chairman Zito introduced Governor Napolitano.  The Governor thanked the Council Members for their efforts, hard work, and dedication to the advancement of technology for the state of Arizona.

 

Guest Presentations

 

Peter Slate, Arizona Technology Enterprise, gave a presentation on “Establishing the Gold Standard for University Technology Commercialization.”

 

Cory Miller, American electronics Association, gave a presentation on "Advancing the Business of Technology in Arizona."

 

Concurrent Break out Sessions

 

The Capital Formation, Technology Development & Transfer and Technology Business Infrastructure committees met to further develop their recommendations for Arizona’s strategic plan on innovation and technology.

 

Next Council Meeting

 

The next Governor’s Council on Innovation and Technology meeting will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. in Flagstaff, Arizona, at a place TBD.

 

Adjournment

 

Chairman Ed Zito adjourned the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and Council Members attended a reception hosted by SRP and AeA.
