Call to Order
Chairman Ed Zito called
the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and requested a “moment of silence” in
support of coalition forces involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Chairman Ed Zito welcomed
all members and reviewed organizational material for the Council.
Dr. Walter Plosila gave his presentation on Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap.
Leezie Kim gave her presentation on the Citizens Finance Review Commission.
The minutes for February 27, 2003 were approved as written.
The committees finalized their mission statements. The following mission statements were approved.
Capital Formation – Evaluate capital formation in Arizona and develop recommendations that support Arizona’s global competitiveness in the 21st century.
Technology Business Infrastructure – Address the infrastructure needs that support the development and competitiveness of Arizona’s technology industries as well as the application of technology to traditional and emerging businesses
Technology Development & Transfer – Evaluate technology development and transfer in Arizona and develop recommendations that enhance its transformation from research to development: the creation of innovation, its development to practical use, and its transfer to companies within the state and to others that benefit the state.
The next Governor’s Council on Innovation and Technology meeting will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at The Manning House, Tucson, Arizona.
Chairman Ed Zito adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
