| About the Council |
| The Governor’s Council on Innovation and Technology (GCIT), a catalyst for developing new economic development strategies, focuses primarily on improving Arizona’s knowledge-based economy. |
- As the Governor’s principal advisory group, its members include Arizona’s most experienced and knowledgeable business and industry leaders.
- The Council’s goals and objectives focus on areas that foster innovation, creation and entrepreneurial expansion of technology-based companies throughout the state of Arizona.
- The Council, in an effort to strengthen the innovation and technology infrastructure in Arizona, produced a series of recommendations presented to the Governor.
- The Council, charged with developing the framework and vision to enable Arizona to become a global leader in innovation and technology research, development and product creation, launched significant initiatives and presented a Progress Report to the Governor in September 05.
- Currently, new committees have been formed to develop programs that enhance Arizona’s global competitiveness in the 21st century. Future meeting dates, past agendas and minutes are available.
